No one can stop you... now get moving!
Imagine the incredible challenges faced in reaching this summit? I equate maybe not to the degree that this climber's facing but definitely to how making changes in our lives is never easy.
The key, or maybe three keys to one’s success I believe are to:
Always face all of the challenges head on.
Secondly do not get caught up in the distance you'll have to travel.
Finally and just as important is never allow yourself to despair over the small amount of control you'll have over the circumstances.
Progress it seems, always comes from taking that first step, and then continuing to take more steps… small but intentional steps.
Looking back on my own challenges I have found that by focusing on the small steps I took each day, and the progress I made... somehow always motivated me to keep going on.
This sort of reminds me of a plaque with a quote I have hanging in my bathroom which says, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.“ was written by Lao-tzu, a Chinese philosopher who lived back in 604 BC.
Although this is the most popular form of this quote, I've also read that the more correct Chinese translation is, "The journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one's feet."
Rather than emphasizing your first step, it makes sense that even the longest journey always begins from where you are standing.
“No one can stop you from wherever you want to go… except you.”
Make it a great day!
