Risk - is it in you?
Risks, I like to say, always pay off. You learn what to do, or what not to do. - Jonas Salk
I know we all have read that he developed the vaccine for polio, right?
In the 1950's thousands of children became infected with this crippling and dreaded disease poliomyelitis, or polio. Parents were in a state of panic and fear.
On April 12, 1955 that fear was lifted forever when after years of research, Dr. Jonas Salk's discovery was made public .
One thing I didn't know was that Salk chose not to patent his polio vaccine.
He had decided all along that he had no desire to profit personally from the discovery.
HIs main reason for not seeking the patent was so that it would be easier to get it to market.... and therefore get more people vaccinated.
Failure they say is just a part of life's tuition... take risks - they eventually pay off!
Make it a great day!
